Current Research

Beth Larry is Assistant Director of the Forest Service's Northern Research Station, one of five regional Forest Service research stations that covers a twenty-state region of the northern and north central United States. Northern Research Station scientists and staff conduct research and share scientific knowledge to help land managers and communities practice sustainable stewardship of their lands and waterways. Ecological and social research across New England, Great Lakes, and Central Appalachian forests and the urban mid-Atlantic is used and applied by land managers and stewards throughout the U.S. and internationally. As Assistant Director for Research, Beth oversees the station's research programs and collaborates with other Forest Service leaders, government agencies, academic institutions, non-governmental organizations, and other partners to ensure that Forest Service research addresses the nation's most pressing forest conservation challenges.
