Research Focus
Philadelphia’s past, present, and future are deeply connected to the interface between water resources, urban forests and green infrastructure, and community engagement. Therefore our focus at the Philadelphia Field Station is to use research to understand the effectiveness of existing programs, to inform decisions made by managers and practitioners, to engage practitioners and residents in data generation and research design, and to share what is learned in Philadelphia with other communities.
Our research focus areas are:
- Ecosystem Benefits and Urban Forest Change
- Citizen Science and Participatory Research
- Human Health and Safety
- Youth Engagement and Conservation Education
