Abstract

The sixth inventory of Michigan's forests was completed in 2004. The 18.7 million acres of timberland found is slightly higher than the 18.6 million acres found in the 1993 inventory. The standing timber volume has increased slightly at a rate of 0.22 percent per year. Detailed inventory results can be obtained at http://www.fia.fs.fed.us
